Thanks for the responses.
This is a standard Def project to be distributed to stations on Beta SP.(it’s a regional show running in 5 markets) I can output to master either thru an AJA IO or a Kona LHi wia component analog. I have a sample .scc file from the caption company so I’ll clone my system drive and attempt the upgrade to Studio 3 on that disk. If there are problems, I can revert back to the original disk. If it works, I’ll simply boot from the clone when I need to layout to tape and do the proper upgrade path when things settle down a bit. If it doesn’t like the upgrade I will use the cale cloned disk, wipe it and do a clean install of the OS and Studio 3 along with the required drivers, utilities and stuff. I’ve also been sitting on my copy of Snow Leopard. Might be a good time to give that a try also.
I do happen to have a broadcast closed caption decoder (don’t ask)to check the output from the deck’s composite video out after layout.
Sounds like a simple solution. I’ll post back how it works in a few days.

Thanks for the suggestions.I’ve had good luck with products from both OWC and “G” products.
It think it will be between a Mercury Elite or a G Speed.

Unchecking the “Remove advanced pulldown & duplicate frames in the L&T preferences menu did the trick.
Footage was shot 24p over 30.

I reinstalled the drivers since these are 32Gb “E” series cards. I thought “Yes! Of course”. I had already updated the firmware in the HVX200 and the cards work fine in the camera. I still have original the problem of transferring files after updating the drivers, however. The cards (or disk image) mount without any problems. I can look at the clips in the viewer, scrub through the video and all seems OK. The problem comes when I add them to the queue. The clips will attempt to convert but there is no progress on the bar. After a few seconds, the clip will stop and it will step to the next clip with the same results. All I get is the little red warning about no media.
And I like a lot of “One Man Bands” has one Do-All machine which would be very difficult to wipe the HD and do a clean install of everything.
Very frustrating indeed.
I’ll keep at it. Any more suggestions?

I tried creating a new user yesterday and it didn’t solve the white screens of agony problem. Still running off of my cloned backup drive today.
