I installed my cloned system drive and booted from it and everything came up fine. Glad I made a backup before doing the upgrade. I’ll have to deal with the upgraded software later.

Nope.
No Colorista installed. I’ve removed all of the Plug-ins for the time being and restarted. Same problem. Removed Perian-same problem. New user-same problem. Screen resolution & color depth-same problem. Trashed prefs-same problem. Repaired permissions-same problem.
Running out of ideas…
I did back up the system drive before upgrading. Looks like I might have to boot from the backup to get through the next round of spots coming in.
I put off upgrading just for the problems early on in this version.

This seems to be a common problem with upgrades. Surely someone has found the solution by now?

I reinstalled the mpeg player from my Studio 3 disc this time and the audio is working again. I bought the Studio 3 upgrade a few months ago. but haven’t had the downtime to install it yet. I was originally using my Studio 2 disc to reinstall the mpeg components. So…

I found the Quicktime mpeg installer and ran it. Rebooted to be safe but still no sound on my mpegs. This is weird. I’ve never had a problem with this before. Gotta just love software updates.
Any more ideas on this one?

When you rendered out, is it possible you had your settings different than the original time? Maybe you rendered your footage as an animation, 10 bit uncompressed or the like and your second drive cannot keep up with the playback. Just a thought…

I am actually cross-posting this in the DVDSP forum as well.
I’m not encoding through Compressor, but from DVDSP itself. I’m importing Quicktime files exported from FCP into DVDSP and encoding from there. No trip through Compressor so no new files to relink to. I’ve deleted the TS file folder for the project, lowerrd the bitrate in DVDSP preferences and then doing a new build on the disk. It always seems to use the original bitrate. Weird.
Yep. Something amiss with the workflow here. I’m probably missing something obvious on this one. This should be a slam-dunk issue.

This is an instructional video to be included in the box with the product. I don’t think that the client would want the added expense of duping a dual layer disc this far into the project.

I’ve deleted all of the existing encoded assets and tried to change the settings and then re-encode. Same, exact file size.Surely there has to be a simple way to just lower the encoding bitrate in an existing project and re-encode without having to start over? All I need to do is reduce the file size by a fairly small amount to fit it all in a single layer disc.
