well, I am much more optimistic now, it just might end up being great
software after all… more I work in it more I like it but without XML its no go…

FCP7 is so irreplaceable 🙁 I tried all the editing software, Premier, Avid Media Composer,
Edius, even Smoke, but I just always come back to FCP7… its just elegant, clean,
and I know it inside out, I will never let it go 🙂

  • btw. if you guys experience terrible performance you should boot your macs in
64bit kernel and extensions… it helps soooo much…

I must say I was optimistic about FCPX but when I first tried it was horrible, I
quitted it after first 15min 🙂 …but as I started setting it up, changed my boot to 64bit
I must say I am really starting to like it, only thing I really miss now is XML support
so I can send my footage to Resolve 8 (when it comes out)…

  • there is really great software by blackmagic called Media Express that can help you with tape
    workflow…

only thing I am really missing is xml or some kind of workflow for davinci now…

I just wonder how many of those trolls actually work for those other companies that
    they are suggesting…

and really, I know its missing some stuff but if you cannot adopt just stay with your
FCP7 and work on FCPX when you can, i bet there will be improvements in near
    future, its just first version.

avid and adobe salesmen please go away, we don’t want your products…

thanks and sorry for bad english….

Accually, you are right, there is even IP and port number in options…
hmm in that case I don’t see the reason why vWave doesn’t work…

I switched from Apple Color to Resolve few days ago, watched short fxphd tutorial,
trained with one project and its already second nature for me 🙂 …I am totally impressed
with it, only thing I hate is EDL but if you are careful its not that much of a problem 🙂

Problem is, as I read somewhere, they Resolve doesn’t support control over network,
but they are working on it… If they make it work, there is no reason vWave wont work
with Resolve… But, man that would be sweet 🙂

Hi Rob, thanks for your answer, tried that program and its great, especially since there is
no gamma change like with MPEG Streamclip and others, little bit slow but…

I found this little program today too https://www.videotoolshed.com/product/42/qtchange/2,
it could be really helpful for giving reel numbers and timecode, it could even fix media menage
problem I am having in FCP with my Canon projects.

Man I really hope they give us network support fro control surface, would love to use
my iPad with vWave, that alone would be enough for my needs 🙂

I will some more test these days, I really hope I integrate Resolve in my workflow
easily, will just need to be more careful…

    Thanks,
