Hi, so to respond to some suggestions…

I tried Fill but for me it just zooms my footage as 4:3 and fills my 16:9 timeline, it doesn’t change aspect ratio, that is no go…

QT Edit is only program that does it as it should be done, since it makes my footage 16:9 even in preview window… but paying 100$ just for this and going one file is no goo too.

Best solution would be (since I will use BM Media Express for capturing) if BM would add anamorphic flag to footage when you choose anamorphic capture. I think it would be simple for them.

February 9, 2012 at 10:56 am in reply to: Blackmagic Desktop 9.2 Beta 2 – not working for me

Hi, yesterday I tried FCPX with new 9.2 beta drivers on my Declink Studio 2 card and while it worked I get weird results with PAL. Looks like image lost sharpness, overall quality and like there is some kind of field or frame drop problem. Is this known issue or?

Other thing, could you add anamorphic flag in your Media Express so that when I capture Anamorphic PAL video I don’t get 4:3 in FCPX. That would be huge time saver and just common sense 🙂

    Thanks,
    Tomislav

I would wait for Avid MC6 and FCPX 1.1 (hopefully with XML)
    and decide then 🙂

I think its a really bad time to go switching your editing software,
especially since your old FCP7 still works perfectly fine…

can we rename this sub forum into “I hate Apple” forum so
    I never go here again?

This is really getting old and pointless guys, if you really hate apple that
much just go to some other forums or blogs and troll there like rest
    of the guys…

This wasn’t personal at all and video is actually really nicely done but
its so old and I think everybody seen it million times…

    Best regards…

    Finally a reasonable post 🙂
As much as I was disappointed when I first opened FCPX, I believe in Apple and that they
will do their best to make this no1 pro editing software. If you look at all their first
version software (even iOS) they will rather not include basic features but wait till they can
make them as best as they can and include them in version 2. Just look at all the other
companies, yes they have all those fancy features but at the end its just one huge mess
    and is counter productive…

Best advice I can give, is keep on working on your FCP7, because lets be honest,
if you liked to work on MC5 or PP, you would work on them, there is a reason why you
work on FCP… And all those people thinking to sell their mac, do you really wont to
work on Windows? Are you crazy??? 🙂

FCPX will just get better, and in few years, maybe even faster, things will change dramatically
and all the competition will be far behind FCPX and you will realize you just wasted money
and time buying and learning new software…

I believe in Apple, because they care about making best products they can,
even if it doesn’t look like that sometimes, but at the end they always end up
    with awesome stuff…

Now call me fanboy but I dont care 🙂
    and sorry for bad english…

June 30, 2011 at 11:12 am in reply to: 64bit and FCPX workflow

I canot give you proof but while I was working on 32bit kernel with 1080p h264 files FCPX was “laggy”,
now on 64bit kernel it feels much snappier, skimming is much faster more responsive…

well maybe something else was going on but it wasn’t background processing and
my files are not transcoded now…

compered to before now I can edit h264 same as prores…

btw. more I learn more I am starting to really like new FCPX 🙂
    hope they add XML soon

go into About this Mac-More info-Software and look at 64-bit Kernel and Extensions:

if its NO, then you need to make it boot into 64bit mode.

after that FCPX works much better…
