Well for starter it sounds like a job for After Effects. Maybe the Liquefy tool is a good starting point .

Cineform seems to be nonfunctional on the Mac at this time. I downloaded the new version of the Go Pro Studio which gave me access to their new codecs about a 2 months ago. When I tried to export some projects from Premiere / After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder. It crashed with the same error message. I spoke to the guys who code it and they spent an hour with me as we repeated my experience. They said it would be fixed shortly. I never heard back from them. I gave them a call about a month ago and they said they know what the problem was and it would be fixed shortly. It wasnt. I think professional need to avoid Cineform in the future.

Well thats a start.
When I play an AJA sequence I listen to the analog output patched into my audio system. I can select either the Mac Pro output (for Adobe sequence) or the AJA output for AJA sequences.
I dont know what systemic differences we have, but I have a motion JPEG stock footage clip in the source monitor AND the external playing right now, smoothly. Then when the timeline is playing on the Program monitor its also playing smoothly on the external.

Hi Shane. Im using a Kona 3 for my system. When using an AJA sequence the player MUST be set to AJA with those new drivers. To get to Aggressive Cache…
1. Right click on the Sequence to open Sequence Settings
2. Then click on Playback Settings at the upper right
3. This opens the AJA panel
4, At the bottom right select Aggressive Cache.
5. At the lower left sett quality at first to medium.
6 Select OK

Watch playback on your monitor. Good luck!Depending on the format of your clips, the Program might bump a tiny amount. My 5D stuff did a little on first playback, but the external is rock solid. The Program monitor was solid for Prores. P2, XDCAM and Motion JPEG.

The one time this happened to me I just closed and reopened Premiere, after deleting all the cached files and the preview files.

John, heres a quote from Wil (a tech from Adobe) explaining why PrP doesn’t export in the same manner that FCP did…

What you’re looking for is what we commonly refer to as smart rendering, and it doesn’t exist in PPro. That’s a Final Cut ‘ism, where it splices rendered data from the preview QT files into the final render. Keep in mind that’s a QuickTime centric feature, & doesn’t translate automatically to all file formats.

The ‘Use preview files’ option in PPro is exactly that – if there’s a preview file, it decodes the frame out of it, & re-encodes it into the final file. So while it’ll help in (non-CUDA) effects heavy compositions, it also incurs a generation loss. Generally, we don’t recommend using it (hence the default to off) unless you really are sure that’s what you want.
