No its not so much UAC, which I will turn off when I am more comfortable with the system. Its the Security gymnastics I have to do to get the Raid Diagnostic software to open up. Windows security needs a sequence of actions to let me access it. And having to run and update Windows Security Essentials is just a process that reminds me how important it is for Windows to protect itself. That just didnt exist in my experience on the Mac, but its something I will adjust to given time.
A couple of weeks and it will feel more familiar.
I am still using the Mac Pro for mail and web use.

Jan Im near the end of massive app installation and windows updating and some tense moments where Windows went away to a black screen and eventually came back. Updating or encrypting, not sure what its was doing but all is well now.

Chris, my first impressions is that OSX is more”refined” and Windows is functional but with a bit less finesse and design.

As you know before I had 4 years with Mac I was only experienced with the PC.

Both do the job, but Apple shields the user (good or bad) from the details and confusions of computer use.

Windows is like a power tool. It very effective, but you better know how to handle it or you can do some damage. Just my transitional perceptions which will change with familiarity. 😀

Yes. MSSE is what I installed. I will continues to use my Mac Pro for mail and internet stuff, just to avoid Murphys Law .

I am looking forward to seeing the performance boost but still have a bunch of stuff to do before I am able to edit.

Actually I had to switch to Lion in order to take advantage of Adobe Transmit / Kona 3 display on an external monitor. I only add this info to let everyone know I am on 10.7.4 now. I did have some issues with the AJA drivers so they have been uninstalled. Life is good (and hot here in Vegas – 112 degrees 🙁
