With Kona card, you output straight from your 720p24 timeline, downconverting with 2:3:2:3 pulldown added.

I have some questionable units also (a common brand that shall remain unnamed for now).
The CalDigit FireWireVR line looks good, but we haven’t bought any yet. They have a lot of the right words in their product descriptions. Are you OK with AC Power on these units? CalDigit seem to be very eager to get new customers. I’d try to feel out their technical support system.
My new criteria for P2 transfer drives will be modular construction (so that drives, fans and even circuit boards can be easily replaced), good fans and cooling design, hardware RAID-1, swappable drives, smallest size and weight, ruggedness–in no particular order. Wiebetech’s trayless designs might fill the bill too. Let us know what you find.

By the way, I was sloppy in my terminology in referring to “…extra firewire outputs.” They are not just outputs but connections to a complete I/O bus which is separate from the built-in FireWire bus. These cards are fairly cheap and easy to install and require no special drivers or software. I believe I got mine from FireWire Direct, but there are many sources.

Do you have only the stock, internal firewire bus on your system or do you have a secondary, PCI card with extra firewire outputs? You may need that to accommodate media on firewire drives and the camcorder at the same time.
I have my camcorder hooked up to the PCIe firewire card and some FW drives hooked to the internal bus.

Thanks for the tips. I will get both programs. So Disk Warrior can be used on media disks, whether they are single disks, RAID-0 or RAID-5?

It is probably an interaction between the camera’s setting and the lighting at the time of the recording. If the camera was set to auto white balance, it may be reading different color temperatures of light in the scene and attempting to adjust to that. If the camera “sees” blue it will adjust toward yellow and vice versa.
Can you describe it in a little more detail? What is the frequency of the oscillation? When it goes yellow is there a big blue object in the scene or a source of bluish light?
You might be able to partially correct it by using the Color Corrector filter and keyframing the adjustments.

Is it perhaps not a self-contained movie, that is, could it be missing part of the media it needs to play on the remote machine? The media does exist on your machine, which explains why it works for you but not for the other.
Did you check the “Make Self-Contained” box when you exported? Just a first guess.

LHe does have composite out, BTW. You have to convert the Y output to composite in the control panel. That might be simpler than dealing with the complications of the UVW deck.
