Hey John, first things first – are you sure that first part works as expected without the second at all? It doesn’t seem to be like it, because ‘Time’ is being interpolated to ‘Time’, with linear expression. And even though its passed to ‘valueAtTime’, that value isn’t actually opacity’s range value, nor a proper change.
Is it really as it should be in your case scenario? Assuming this should be some sort of opacity fade based on the markers?

Hey Ryan, few questions:
1. Inside the comp, do you want to additionally break ‘splitted’ phrase into word per layer?
2. Any chance to see potential comp names?
3. How many text layers do you currently have in the comp?The thing is – if you are applying your code line to N text layers already(thisComp.name.split(“[delimiter}”)[#]), and each split part has multiple words – additional amount of layers will be required.
Anyways, answering questions above will give a better understanding.

Javier, are you animating the slider from one value to the other? On my end it works as expected.
On the other hand, why do you need that regex expression? Slider generates only numeric values anyways, so ‘sNaN’ check doesn’t seem to be needed here. Not sure about the replace part.

str.replace(/(\d)(?=(\d\d\d)+([^\d]|$))/g, '$1 ');It generates identical results with & without it, just with a single line of ‘num’ value – wonder whether it has any specifics in your execution.

The limit of 10 lines is simply my choice to make it more robust and not to clog execution with redundant amounts of data. I don’t see a real reason where someone could use more than 10 lines of text, especially for dynamic social media posts. Its unlikely to use text appearances with loads of paragraph texts, which might go beyond.
Each line can contain as many characters as needed.
In the gif below, you can see that once the number of chars per line reaches certain threshold ratio, whole phrase scales down (its adjustable). Meaning, it also allows user to avoid having text reaching outside the boundaries of the comp size – which is super useful for adding phrases without worrying of extra size/lines tweaking. Also, growing of lines is possible from all 9 locations (top, center,bottom, left, center, right), combined cases.

Instead of [-192,-192] try something upper value like [-48,-48]. It should be still enough to fade out the sounds, and it won’t be that ‘fast’ drop.

Hey Javier, for numbers, change first line to the following:
num = parseFloat(thisComp.layer("Number_Control").effect("Number_1")("ADBE Slider Control-0001")).toFixed(2);Removed rounding and added toFixed(2), where number in brackets reflects decimal nrs count.
As for the hiding of layers, its optional, and you can do it in many ways.
For example, you could apply opacity expression for all layers, where if Slider’s value is higher than text layer’s index, items opacity is set to 0. This is assuming, that your text layers are at the top of layer stacks, and you need to hide them one after another in sequential order, where slider goes from 0 to 10. Again, its trivial 🙂

yesterday I responded to your message with suggestions on how to improve your design, but it was removed due to the fact that I provided more insights about my template, like it would be a spam.. Oh well, lesson learned ☺
Anyways, to break down your current solution, I think its an interesting approach, yet there are few important things to think about. It is essential that such ‘boxed’ design would adapt automatically without a need to tweak paddings, etc. As otherwise, it looses the main purpose of easy update with different phrases. With that said, look for way to improve it from this point of view.
As for my design, I spent quite a lot of time to narrow it down to the point of re-usable template.
