Hey Malcolm, it is expected that size will be gathered from actual width/height, and not boundaries-exclusive .pngs.

While I haven’t tried this, it might be possible to achieve it by pixels sampling. But expressions based solution of this kind would be computation heavy.

Idea would be scanning image from corners, until non-alpha sampling value is found. Anyone has a better idea for this?

Hey Kristine,

every duplicated layer appears above of the original layer. With that in mind, I think it would be wise to:
1. Have only row-related layers in the comp.
2. After duplication is done, move new layer to the bottom of the stack.
3. Append your layer name with ‘(“US ” + (index-1) + ““)’ (since your values are starting from 0).
4. In such case, every new layer will be pointing to different data line.

As for the script – its doable for sure. All you need to do is just run a loop which does what I described above !

Sebastian – where exactly return mycomp doesn’t work? Could you share the following:
1. How do you call the function 1 in ‘main area’ of your script?
2. How do you defined retrieved variable from function 1?

Since you hit the button in a script panel, does this still remain true?

var comp = app.project.activeItem;

Overall, a layer must always be selected in the comp, thus you surely need to define try/catch in case selection is not made.

Marc – I guess you are referencing drag-text tool as Area text?

So it works in the same way as other sourceRectAtTime, you just need to reposition text and text box in order not to introduce shift of location, when text changes !

Maurizio – its unlikely to be accessible as there are no scriptable elements in object model – but even if it does, what would be the benefit of this? Pre-defining settings? How would you prefer to call such script?

In case if you find a way to access buttons to trigger, [button-variable-selected].notify() executes the available items in GUI elements.

Jason, any chance your ‘slider’ is non-slider type? Or is it a pseudo effect?

Lpos = thisComp.layer("FX - Landing POS").effect("Comp Control")("TuneIn 2")//slider;

this means:
Layer Name: ‘FX – Landing POS’
Effect Name in layer: ‘Comp Control’
“Slider name” : ‘TuneIn 2’

Thus, does it have numeric value? Because below, works as expected, so just to make sure.
Lpos = thisComp.layer("FX - Landing POS").effect("Comp Control")("Slider")

Hey Sebastian, any chance to actually know more about the colors?

Lets say its blue for low, and red for high values. Does interpolation above works without introducing any non-related color values? Since color is 4 dimensional array – I wonder what results such interpolation brings in real life scenarios ! Cheers!

Comp bg is set to the one which matches foreground of an app. Its a matter of people’s transparency, but some just doesn’t care, as long as it generates clicks. Thats how it works nowadays in the internet – you just can’t trust what you see, haha.

Anyways, with a script you could achieve something similar to this – just a question whether you really need it? Because normally, all resolutions have some ‘pre-defined’ values, and its unlikely that in the long run you will choose random resolutions from time to time.

Martijin, what you could do in this case, is use interpolation – which will allow defining that ‘position value’ without actual keyframes.
