45 mins of hd to 35GB means 100Mbps, which should be pretty nice with jpeg2000, 2/3″ & 720p.
AFAIK you can also attach any external hdd (fw & usb) to it. And even Gb-ethernet.
With 1080p24 it would be a killer in its price range. -

There’s also Citidisk that sells less than $800 for 80GB.
Handling higher bitrates does not make these more expensive to build, it just needs newer hard disk and those are usually cheaper with same diskspace than the old ones. -
With progressive 60p video you can get pretty good results by shooting with double shutter speed and slowing down to half in the post with righ motion blur settings.

What ever I get. Recently mostly manfrotto and vinten as they are more common here, mainly because they are cheaper.
I prefer sachtler whenever possible, but Ronfords are really special; you can adjust the tilt axis to the gate/cell level.
With that you can get really nice movement especially with wide angles. -

I think we are on a stage of camera technology and thinking that you can do digitally the same than with film. Next stage will be how to do better than with film, and thats what users are starting to ask.
We are getting more used to computers and digital devices, so questions like “why can’t I just put hard disk inside?” or “can’t you put just one chip inside it to work as hd controller so I could attach any external sata disk to it?” arise… -
Sync is for on the fly editing tc-out/in is just to ease a bit editing afterwards, same thing that timecode in a slate if there is sound recording.
All of these plus uncompressed out/in (like sdi) are technically quite simple and cheap, but with them manufacturers have been maintaining camera price classes, but I suspect that these boundaries are slowly disappearing. -
