I’m thinking about buying a mirrorless camera also.
I want to have more than 8-bit 4:2:0 that my VX1000 had back in 1995.
I guess the only mirrorless cameras with 10-bit are GH5 and BM Pocket.
How does their low light performance compares?Anybody heard if a7S3 will have 10-bit?
Will BM update Pocket soon?
Is there a Magic Lantern to any mirrorless camera? -
Raw, would be nice, but I’d be happy ta have anything in 10-bit or even 9-bit log. But seems to be that after all the troubles Sony has been, they are still in “digibeta-mode”, that you have to pay a lot for 10-bits, no matter how many decades has it gone and how many hundred times more storage and processing power you get than back then…
I’m just amazed how these still “pros”(engineer?) are preaching so loudly these days:

:”Banding at 8-bit or the 8-bit vs 10-bit debateStupid. Those who think there’s a difference have no clue about what they’re talking about. 8-bit is fine. Camera does not produce banding, If you see banding during grading, you’re not doing it right.
However, you can get posterization with the heavy compression found on Youtube or Vimeo. This is due to the color noise that effects the underexposed regions of the scene, and is a problem with most cameras.”

I guess your guess is pretty good.
Although those itu engineers have had broader view lately, they are still looking more to the past than future.
R.2020 has quite impressive array of frame rates: 120, 60, 60/1.001, 50, 30, 30/1.001, 25, 24, 24/1.001.
Although there haven’t been content with 120fps either, they just left out multiples of 24 & 50. Maybe they are finally after having just one HFR for broadcasting… -

Do I need Panasonic Mac driver just for copying the files?
I’ve been under impression that is not needed. -

I’m not going to pay for those overpriced card readers. It would be cheaper to buy used laptop with pc-card reader. I’m thinking about ditching the whole P2 format…
