HVX200 Promo Spot ;-)
Posted by Jan Crittenden livingston on September 8, 2005 at 1:41 amHi,
We did a commercial to play at the various film festivals around the country, for which we are a sponsor and thought that everyone would like to see it. The link is on the HVX200 page and just below it is the quicktime or window media choice for playback.
Hope you like it,
Jan

September 8, 2005 at 3:39 amNo, it was shot on the VariCam. This spot was done a few months ago to be ready for the 48 Hrs Film Competition, long before the HVX was ready to start delivering footage.

Where did they found that Sachtler fluidhead?
Joke of a real pro equipment?
I’ll bet it’s at least from 70s’.
Oh well, some things just last… -

September 9, 2005 at 1:00 amSo, since the real main differances in the cameras will be the lenses. could I expect using the HVX200 to deliver the same kind of quality shooting DVCPRO100 as your Vericam did shooting this video?

September 9, 2005 at 1:55 amSame- no. The Varicam has much better CCDs and much better lenses so it’s unrealistic to expect the same quality. It will be in the ballpark though.

September 9, 2005 at 3:08 amI did assume the quality would be better with the Varicam no doubt. But looking at the quality of the DVX-100 and knowing this camera is going to be better.
I’m curious what HD 100 will look like transferred to film. I have seen many videos transferred to film and you can tell.
I wonder if it would be better to shoot 720p and transfer to film stock or shoot 1080i and use the plug in for After Effects to run a program like Magic Bullet to convert to 1080p 24. or dose the camera already do 1080p @ 24fps?

September 9, 2005 at 3:49 amDid she say what it was shot on????? I see it’s a 200 promo spot, I see it’s DVCPRO HD, but what “camera” was it shot on?

September 9, 2005 at 3:59 amA little deceptive to me, shoot it on a 70k camera and not really tell you. What’s the point? If I wanted to see the varicam I’d watch a Fox TV show or go on Panasonic’s site and view the cell phone commercial, really!
