That’s a weird one…
first thing that pops into my mind is maybe a corrupted render (sequence or project).
Depending on your deadline, length of project, I would suggest deleting all your render files (use either render manager, or manually navigate to your proper render folder for that project and delete everything.
then, you will obviously need to re-render everything. See that works. If not, do the basic troubleshooting tips…repair permissions, trash fcp preferences. open new project and copy/paste all items into it, same concept for the sequence. create new, then copy/paste into it.
That is an obvious snafu, as if you can see it, (in a still) unrendered, then once rendered you should see it too (playing in real time).
hope this helps

May 15, 2009 at 6:02 pm in reply to: 2 cameras, 1 drop frame – 1 non drop. LOTS of clips. best solution?tried that software, it worked great, except it didn’t do anything for the DF/NDF difference. Still had the sync get greater as time went on.
Segments are only about 3 minutes, and there are only 3, so the manual (drop fram match) won’t be too bad. I was hoping someone had a way to easily change that.
I’m probably going to “bake” the clips down, they should match thengreat syncing software. I just manually matched 3 cameras for a rock band. Was quite a pain.
This software would have saved me SO MANY hours.NOW, I know.
What is the price, I didn’t see it on the site?

“hidden in compressor”?
I have had lots of success with the peak limiter within FCP.
If I remember correctly there are 4 parameters within:
I wish I could say I understand what each means, but I can’t.
I start with:
.4
0
20
10and then adjust the level of the clip (usually down to maybe -4 or -6 depend on how it sounds). Once I get the desired results on one clip, I copy attributes and paste on the rest of the clips. Of course with 750 clips you may have to adjust the levels on some of them individually.
I have done this to several web-based programs, and it has worked.
Hope that helps.

Was at NAB for only the second time in my 15+ year career.
I found the 3d televisions mostly laughable. Almost all had glasses, even the old red/blue paper ones. Those just gave me a headache. A few did look phenomenal.
The Black Magic folks had a great looking touch screen patch panel that looked VERY cool, along with the aforementioned scope software.
Biggest highlight…………I got to meet, shake hands and thank Bob Zelin for all the great information he gave me over the years. He (among others) were very instrumental in getting my HD FCP edit suite built in my converted dining room.
Recognized him from across the room, you can’t mistake that hairdo!!!!

Find someone that has CS4 and (using a “final cut” quicktime) encode to flash using Adobe Media Encoder.
I get great results in my conversions to flash.

I seem to remember having to install some kind of codec or something into final cut, in order to use my personal Canon camcorder (AVCHD footage). After troubleshooting on the phone with Canon, it works perfectly as Shane has mentioned.
Maybe a call to Sony may solve your problem, or google “sony avchd”.

It has gone away again after turning the monitor off and letting it sit for a few minutes, so I’m pretty sure its not burn-in or major damage, but I’m very curious as to whats going on.

many electronic devices still draw “phantom power” even when turned off. This was a “feature” added to lessen the time it takes them to “warm up”, and turn on. This means that we all are paying for electricity, that in essence, is not being used.
When your just talking about a pair of speakers, it doesn’t seem to impressive, but think about your tv, stereo, cell phone chargers (draw power even when not hooked up to your phone), and almost everything else that you leave plugged in at your house/work.
So knowing that, its better to power things down, but even BETTER to unplug them.
I don’t follow this 100% as it is highly inconvenient, but I do what I can. To make it easier, you can hook several devices to a power strip. A power strip, when switched off, is said to eliminate “phantom power”.The less electricity you use, the less you have to pay, and you will lessen the amount of coal that the elec companies have to burn.
