2 cameras, 1 drop frame – 1 non drop. LOTS of clips. best solution?
I have to create 3 yoga segments, and the producer thought it would be great to shoot 2 cameras, a close up and a full body. Captured with P2 cards (lots and lots of files (clips)). Time code doesn’t seem to match (1:23 off-then drift due to df/ndf). And to make matters worse, one camera is in drop frame, the other in Non drop.
Is there an easy way to make the clips sync?
Or change the df/ndf status of the clips?Am I going to have to export all of these clips as a QT, and therefore have them match, then do a manual sync. Bummer that is going to be extremely teadous.

I didn’t get the name of the software but there was something at NAB that would sync via the audio. This would probably do the trick for you as long as both cameras have the same audio. Google software to sync clips in FCP. Make sure the producer pays for the software or your time to do the syncing.
Hopefully they are the same frame rate. I love low budget jobs that the client thinks it is helpful to use there little DV camera to go with a HVX or even the old DVX shooting and editing 23.98.

Are they different frame rates? The only way I can imagine them being NDF and DF…different…is if the frame rates didn’t match.

tried that software, it worked great, except it didn’t do anything for the DF/NDF difference. Still had the sync get greater as time went on.
Segments are only about 3 minutes, and there are only 3, so the manual (drop fram match) won’t be too bad. I was hoping someone had a way to easily change that.
I’m probably going to “bake” the clips down, they should match thengreat syncing software. I just manually matched 3 cameras for a rock band. Was quite a pain.
This software would have saved me SO MANY hours.NOW, I know.
What is the price, I didn’t see it on the site?
