If Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously multiprocessing is disabled when rendering a composition, it is not automatically re-enabled during the rendering of that composition.
> Is Turbulent Noise an effect that might be a culprit?
See “When After Effects temporarily disables multiprocessing” for a complete list of effects that cause Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously to be disabled. Turbulent Noise is not on that list.

August 24, 2009 at 2:50 pm in reply to: Camera position moves when 2 keyframes are set at the same position?from “Controlling change with interpolation”:
“In some cases, the Auto Bezier spatial interpolation for Position keyframes can cause undesired back-and-forth (boomerang) motion between two keyframes with equal values. In such a case, you can change the earlier keyframe to use Hold interpolation or change both keyframes to use Linear interpolation.”
(The same page also points to some videos by Aharon Rabinowitz back here on the COW that demonstrate and explain the issue.)

I recommend contacting Adobe Technical Support for installation issues.

QuickTime is required by After Effects for some things to work—like importing and playing QuickTime files.

You can use the bug-report/feature-request form.
Or you can send email to aebugs at adobe dot com. This works better if you want to attach a sample project or footage that exhibits the bug.

August 22, 2009 at 11:57 pm in reply to: Composition Markers -> Separate Render Queue Jobs?I try to keep the After Effects Help document up to date with links to fundamentally useful scripts like these. It can’t hurt to search and browse around in After Effects Help when you’re looking for utility scripts. And I always want to hear about new utility scripts with broad usefulness.

from “Render with OpenGL”:
“To enable OpenGL for rendering final output, click the underlined text next to Render Settings in the Render Queue panel, and select Use OpenGL Renderer.”
But I don’t recommend using OpenGL for final renders. OpenGL is good to speed up certain kinds of rendering for previews and interactions, or for creating proxies, but I wouldn’t use it for final output.

On that same page, there are some links to tutorials by Aharon back here on the COW that show a visual demonstration of what’s up and how to fix it.
