Quicktime
I have After Effects CS3 and after some crashing issues, i narrowed the problem down to Quicktime, which I deleted and now all is well. However, when i try to import a .mov file, I get an error message that says “not a valid file type for import”. Is that because a .mov file is a quicktime file, and I don’t have it installed anymore? If so, is there a way to have quicktime installed on my system so that it does not conflict with After Effects? Thanks in advance.

QuickTime is required by After Effects for some things to work—like importing and playing QuickTime files.

OK…that didn’t help me…is there a way to have Quicktime on my system and not have it crash After Effects?

Just do a fresh install of both programs and you should be fine.
