uhhmmm…. “text animator”
twirl down an text layer (created with the text tool) and click on the arrow on the right and choose something like offset or so.
just take a look at my uploaded file.

you can use the text tool with a text animator applied. thats the why i would do it.

you can edit the text at any point to define the frozen numbers at the end.

when viewing your attached picture it seems like the tracking points are working.
you will need some tracking markers. there are a view options to get rid of them. you can oversize the attached picture to overlap the tracking markers or paint them out or track other things on it with a one point track.

im pretty curious how to force lux to pick up a layers color for simulating projection. cant imagine how to do that.

shine is a good plugin for this job.
is the projecting light source out of frame or visible? if it will be visible you need to cheat a bit, cause when you scale the projected footage to a really tiny size, there will be nothing left to project for shine.maybe thats why you are trying so hard to do it.
