Does it have to be done in 3D? If not Particular or CCParticle World in After Effects might be an easier way to go.
Just a thought.

In your render settings you need to make sure “all frames” is selected. By default it will only render out the “current frame”

I don’t mind at all:
1)It is a 4 year college. The program is for motion graphics.
2)The first term is spent mostly on learning the program and how to use the tools to model. By the end of the term they create a fairly simple animation mostly using camera moves. The second term is spent learning how to animate and use Mograph.
I have seen students come out of the first term making some incredible things. By the second term, they are creating some really cool commercial quality animations. These are the only 2 formal classes they get with Cinema, but as they go on in the program they continue to learn by using it on projects.
I hope that helps.

I currently teach at a school that offers 2 terms of Cinema 4D. Our classes meet twice a week for 7 hours (3 hrs lecture, 4 hrs lab) for 5 weeks for a total of 70 hours.
Most of our students have little or no experience in 3D. At the end of the 2 terms, they are quite proficient with Cinema 4D. What I see happen more often than not is that the students get SO excited about working in 3D that they eat up everything they can about the program.
Obviously there are some students that don’t find it as easy as others and they tend to get frustrated. Even those students with a little extra help tend to be proficient enough to use the program.

Many times, black frames or black video can be solved by using an image sequence rather than a video. I would give it a try. Also what version of C4D are you using, and what version of QT do you have installed?

February 16, 2011 at 12:48 am in reply to: our company is looking to hire a Cinema 4D freelancerCan you specify what type of work you are looking for? It would help for people to know what type of samples you are looking for.
Thanks.

When you say “about half way through” Can you specify a frame number? I’ve scrolled through the scene looking at the intensity of the various lights and I don’t see them change.

If you can post your file, it would be helpful. If you’re not comfortable doing that (ie client project) perhaps you can pare it down to jut the important bits?
