You can only reconnect to the import (mov) files associated with the sonyEDcam import function on the FCP.These files can be transferred among the hard drives and reconnected. If the BPAV files are reimported and they are then independent of the original mov files. the reconnect function does not distinguish between BPAV files and MOV files in the search mode.

i dumped the prefs with FCP manager and everything now works great!I thought the days of pref dumping were over but i was sorely mistaken.

I tried to use the FCP media manager and it stopped me cold – I thought the AJA box was too easy a solution but it worked spectacularly. My appreciation is boundless.

I have a new mac pro tower and had to put 4gb to make it work well.
We put in 1.5 terra raided external hard drive and on a Sata and it works flawlessly.
one last thing – Do Not Hot Swap the AJA – it really doesn’t like it.
