    BG: FCP 6:04, Mac Pro, non tiger, 4gig ram,3 tera raids
    The import function will only work when importing folders – it does not work when importing files ( of any kind)and locks up the software.Problem is five days old – seemingly without reason.

    I’m not having that (thanks God) in FC6.0.4.
    out of the usual formulas (Permissions, Directories, Preferences,..) I don’t know what suggest you.
    While you find the solution, drag and drop from the finder to the Browser is your only option to import individual files.

    i dumped the prefs with FCP manager and everything now works great!I thought the days of pref dumping were over but i was sorely mistaken.
