So how do I “fix” my clips in my bin? Do I have to delete them and do a new L&T?

Yep…it sure was…how have I never run into that before…is it due to the 24frames? I dont shoot in that a lot…if ever really?

    Hey Hannah,

My workflow works really well for me…do a web search for MpegStreamclip…it is a stand alone piece of software that is priceless. I use it many times per week.

You can drop your footage in it and transcode in a batch to just about anything that you want. I work mainly with Panasonic as my primary source of footage so I usually go to DVCProHD with it.

It seems to be a little faster and less troublesome than using FCP for the transcode.

Look at what Apple did to the Dual Adapter for we P2 users…just wrote out the code…for no apparent reason that would allow it to mount and killed a perfectly good product in one software update.

Thank goodness I have an old 17″ MBK that I keep the old OS on so I can still use mine. Historical disdain for supporters and end users.

I realize this is an old post…but I was wondering if you could elaborate a little. I have an upcoming shoot for a scanning facility with MRI, CT, Ultrasound…you name it they have it.

Can you share any tips or concerns with shooting these pieces of equipment with P2 only camera like that HPX170?

How close to equipment can you get…what should I watch out for…etc.

    Thanks so much,

    Tim

January 11, 2010 at 11:59 pm in reply to: AI path import…very frustrated

Ok…so I redid my AI and put everything in its own doc and imported seperately…seems like a lot of work, but it is the only way I can get them to act independent for some reason. But now I have two items on separate tracks that I need to lock together so that they move together. How can I combine two tracks but keep their individuality as far as textures/looks/etc.?

Hey Reuben…the separate layers is great new info…I’ll jump on that tomorrow and let you know what I get going…I also need to rewatch the tutorial videos…I am sure that will get me going better, as well.

When you say local…how local…I am in Clermont.

    Thanks again,

    Hey Ed,

Thanks for the quick feedback…I think I found it…the file was from an engineer and he had a lot of “trash” in the image that I missed when I tried to clean it up for import.

Operator Error…doh…but another issue that I am having now…got it to come in as CS2..looks ok, but when I try to apply a look to it…it applies to the whole image…not what I have selected with a red marque…any tip on how to get my individual AI groups to act alone…or separate?

    Thanks,

    Tim

  • I’d have to say Ditto to MIke, but I think one thing that you all missed is that he said he brought up the fact early in the stages of production and the client said he would cut it down later in the process.

Probably one fault of Mark B. was to let it progress past this point, but I have done the same again in “good faith” but made sure to point out the fact that it was out of scope and there would be additional charges.

Mark R. I’d say you are being a little harsh…unless you are one of those perfect business people in this crazy business of ours and has never run into this situation…you too missed the point that he brought it up early and tried to confront it…as long as he has documentation to prove it…he can most certainly go after the extra money…he did the work…it was out of scope and he is most certainly due the overruns.

He came here for advice not sniping and belittling of his professionalism and business acumen.
