    No need to capture, just mount the XDCAM in FAM mode and copy the MXF files to your hard drive.

    Timothy hope I am following this right do you mean I can connect the XDCAM to my computer and transfer my footage from the disc to the hard drive instantly or near instantly unlike tape where it has to be played in in realtime.
    Sorry to ask this but what is FAM mode

    Hope someone can help here I am thinking of getting the Sony PDW-F330 as it can record DVCAM what I wanted to know is when the footage is fed to Vegas from the camera will I have scene detection as if I were using DVCAM tape
