Good point. but it seems that the gen lock setting is permanently set to internal on the Time code settings page of the menu.
It does not respond to changing.
Is there maybe a setting on a different page that allows the gen lock to be changed?
The 700 menu has more of these, such as the magnification setting that has to be done on two different pages.

    Hi Noah,

    I’m shooting XD HD 422 25p
The SB-T has its dial on 2 and the dip switches on 00.
I’ve tried 01 (interlaced setting) as well but I keep having
rolling sync problems. These are settings I got from the nice
    folks at Denecke.
the box has time code and the green led flashes every second.
On my PDW 510 the SB-T works flawlessly with gen lock.
    regards,

Its a recurring problem with XD if the disc is pushed in to hard the mechanism will malfunction.
The 500 series had the same.
a lot of people are used to pushing a cassette in to the camera with a little gentle force.
That doesn’t work to well for XD, softly pushing the disc in and gently closing the lid will save you trouble.

Quite remarkable for a 16 (!) year old clip.

Thank you very much for all the response.
I’m planning to move from EX-3 to EX1r for reasons of size.
And with the EX-3 I always use an IR filter because its pretty tricky to shoot without one.
But because of the heavy coating it flairs easily.
So if the EX-1r solves all these problems that would be great.
Once its here I’ll run a test an keep you posted.

    Cheers,

    Dear Allister,

    thanks for the clips.
the 350’s contrast range is a bit unsettling for me as an 700 owner.
do you think it is possible to match the 350 and 700 well enough to use them seamlessly in a two camera shoot?
or is the CMOS to different?

    Hi Jay,

If you are planning to use a fixed camera in the front of house position to shoot a wide, you might as well plug in a couple of simple stereo mics into that, just to cover everything acoustically.
    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/373764-REG/Behringer_C_2_C_2_Stereo_Matched_Studio.html#reviews
for instance, are cheap and come with an XY mount.
Looking at the bands line up I think it will sound even better then a direct feed from the PA because that will have less drum an guitar amps.
Great seeing you with the Kinkster btw!

Cinema as in 35 mm projected film?
cause that is a whole other can of worms.
