thanks guys, i’m running Red without openGL and it is doing just fine- the problem was indeed the video card- apparently, Red needs over 32 mb for texture memory and that is the max my card will allow, so with avid open, not all of the texture memory goes to boris, which was causing the error-
Thanks again you guys were a big help!

March 22, 2007 at 11:02 pm in reply to: Xpress Pro video does not play in program monitorperhaps the computer is bogged down from effects? try rendering if everything is not rendered? That’s a simple fix so there’s a chance you already did that- Also the monitor can not be covered even partially by the timeline, source window, effects pallete, or anything else- however, i’m pretty sure it won’t play in general if that is the case so you wouldn’t see it at all. But I could be wrong. Just a couple of simple things, but sometimes when you look all over the place its that one button thing thats so easy you forget. Hope it is!

Thank you- I may go with procoder- I did not get sorenson with my Avid- I had been bugging them since practically last april about it and they said they would get one too me but it might take a bit bc the new squeeze was coming out- A year later I never did get that- I feel calling them is not even worth my time at this point so I’ll probably get myself procoder- Thanks for the help!

well I must plead ignorance on this! I’ve never used juice before the swipes are the first thing i bought and I thought the juice disc was more or less a preview of their products (at least thats how it looks)! but its not! I was just informed- thats probably why it only works on my 1st comp- I apologize I’m sure that made me sound very intelligent- it’s just that I’ve never worked with it before!

March 22, 2007 at 1:23 am in reply to: Xpress Pro video does not play in program monitoris the monitor black? or is the video frozen on the screen? doest it skip from freeze to freeze like a strobe looking effect? I’m not sure I’d have any type of anser anyway, but that info might be helpful to the people that know much more than I do.

also, if there is no way- is there a more cost effective alternative than sorenson squeeze?

Just so you know, if anyone else has this problem i did figure it out, kinda. While the audio still has the echoey noise while coming out of the mojo, if you look on the top of your timeline and more towards the left you’ll see a small square button that says “DNA” when i pressed it it then read “1394” – returning it to the “DNA” setting reduced the noise, but when i turned my actual computer speakers on i realized when in “1394” mode the audio came out of my normal computer speakers and perfectly normal. I dont know why it works, maybe bc the audio output is changed to the firewire out of the mojo and into the CPU when i put that setting on? oh well i dont know and i dont care it works haha.
