The problem was in the graphics card. I had a g5 (POWER PC) with a 4+ year old card. Purchased a better card and the problem went away….

Now, I just have an intel model and I’m working…

Sure… I was merely just trying to highlight the NEED for a tape like this is all.

Sorry Shane… The post didn’t go through..

what I said was… There IS a reason to do this and that comes from using stock footage clips from a WINDOW BURNED master reel of all the clips … you pick what you want… then the company sends you a reel with the (no window burn) clips on a tape that changes timecode to the CLIP TIMECODE to match your edits.

Same with FEATURE FILMS that are unreleased.. they send you a window burned offline version and you cut in the clips you want… they will ONLY send you CLIPS from the CLEAN PICTURE MASTER and they’ll give it to you based on CLIP TIMECODE no in a linear fashion so that you don’t have to OVERCUT..

I’ll point out though… most places screw that part up and you have to overcut anyway

Actually… ONLY do the speed adjustment in FINAL CUT PRO – do NOT do any stamping of the sample rates tricks with audio that is to be synced in FINAL CUT PRO. I won’t get into it at this point but results are opposite in Final Cut Pro than say PROTOOLS and there is a very good reason for this – genius actually- but just do not stamp audio to different sample rates for use in FINAL CUT PRO hoping for the fix you want. USE SPEED ADJUSTMENTS – in your case 99.9% before syncing audio to picture…

Sorry, I meant yes, you can use COLORISTA in 5.1.4 with HD SD AD D&D ABCD all those things… to be clear.

It works in 5.1.4 version of Final Cut Pro. As a matter of fact, since I have an older g5 with older graphics card, I can do HD in 5.1.4 but in 6 the card isn’t good enough. Just a point to add. Apple did something in the programming to check the card more efficiently in 6.

Yeah, I had that as well. Colorista was applied and then I’d make any change to the plugin AFTER it was applied – Nothing happened on the CANVAS. I had to add a second Colorista to affect new changes.

Good, thanks Walter.. I was hoping you’d respond. Your machines that it is working on… are they all intel machines?

Also, there was no update to colorista that I feel asleep through?

I trashed prefs..the usual stuff. Anything 10bit in HD the image got actually split into two images. ProRes always… prohd now is doing it as well. 8bit and 10bit.

    Thanks Walter… I’ll that helps
