  • Try an Audio Mixdown ans see if that helps.

First, SELECT all of your audio tracks (highlight them) that are involved in that section of the timeline, then:

Sequence Menu > Render Only > Mixdown.

You should see a dialog box telling you its rendering.

[teerav] “the transition was already 5 frames long. although i did try extending it to to 10 and 15 frames.”

I don’t mean changing the lenth of the TRANSITION. I mean try changing the length of the CLIP(s).

I’m trying to determine if its specifically a problem with one of the clips involved in the tran.

Change WHEN the dissolve/effect happens on the timeline and observe what happens.

[teerav] “lol, thanks. obviously i rendered it.”

There is nothing “obvious” about rendering.
There are countless posts here where the user did not render effects.

What happens if you EXTEND or SHORTEN the length of the effect by, say, 15 frames and re-render?

    Render it.

Make sure you did not accidentally add a key-frame that moves it to a wrong position during its time on-screen.

[Steve C] “If the audio is a Stereo Pair, you will have to make it 2 channel first …”

It the audio is a “Stereo Pair”, it is ALREADY panned L and R.

Select (highlight) all of the clips on A1 and go to Modify (menu) audio Pan Left.

Do the same with A2 but Pan Right.

    Done.

    Is your disk almost full?

What pixel dimensions are you using?

    Are you compressing the audio?

  • Audio Mixdown is one of THE most overlooked… but most IMPORTANT functions
in curing timeline stutters and pauses.

You can send the output of the switcher thru a CG unit which would lay its grpahics over the final output.

The problem with these kind of setups is each time you route thru another device it adds noise and decreases the resolution a bit.

OTOH, you MIGHT want to take a look at THIS:

    I’ve seen a demo… I’m really on-the-fence about these guys.

  • [JeremyG] “Delete your audio render files, re-render, and try again.

The MIXDOWN basically performs the same end result of doing that.

Its the closest thing to a “super-fix” that you can do to a “Sticky” and/or Skipping” timeline.
