Surely you can tell if an audio track is Stereo or mono from listening in HEADPHONES.
Are you saying you have never heard the difference in the two formats before?

How does the tape sound to YOU in headphones after you record it from FCP?

If there is a RESET button on the camera, press it (it returns the settings and micro-processor to “factory condition”.
But I doubt this will do the trick, buy its the place to start.
Could be as simple as a “sticky” button.
Or as complex as a defective “logic” chip.
Regardless, if a “reset” does not solve the problem, a trip to the service center is the only hope.

Well, if you’ve got what you need except the Dazzle is an unreliable piece of junk… DON’T USE A DAZZLE… its generally considered an unreliable piece of JUNK!

Imagine that someone handed you a video tape with a two-camera show already cut together.
The guest-camera looks just fine, but the host-camera has a very slight ghost-image MIXED WITH IT of a full-sceen yellow and blue “checker board” that floated slowly thru the shot.
What kind of filter would you use to make the host’s camera image look as clean as the guest’s?
This is (roughly) the audio equivalent.

Yes, termination (lack-of, or “double”) can wreak havoc on a video “loop”.

Try a different graphic and see what happens.
I think it might have to do with that particular graphic since the problem “follows” it.
On another tack… Trash your FCP preferences.

Make SURE on the back of your monitor that you are feeding the cables into the INPUTS and not the outputs (if there ARE outputs).
Certain monitors have “automatic” teremination (75 ohm) that drops out, if you have cables connected to the bridging OUTPUTS.
