That was my point.

David did not actually SAY that at all.

The quote is, “…using a “vertical” Directional Blur would fix the problem…”

Since there is no “Directional Blur” filter in FCP or Photoshop (but there IS a “Gaussian Blur”), it might make for a long search trying to find “Directional Blur” in the filter choices.

David did not say to add the filter INSIDE Photoshop.

Since the first responder was suggesting adding a filter inside FCP (after you see that the image might need one), that can make for quite a bit of confusion.

A mixed file of a final track can not be “un-mixed” once it is output and the original track are unavaliable.

Is that what you mean?

You’d need the clean discrete tracks to do any kind of “separation.”

Nothing can do that without the pre-mixed track being avaliable.

This is a common function in the audio business.

It is usually called “SOLO” on audio boards and in software.

(some do), you’ll need an analog to digital audio input device.

I’ve seen a system that can enlarge a 4×4 pixel section of an image taken at midnight from a $35 security camera at a distance of 2/3 mile.
It take make a wide shot in which there is a tiny section of license plate on a speeding car and render it full-screen/full-color/full-rez with 5 computer keystrokes.

IMHO, you should not be using the FCP legacy title tools
as they are inferior to most any title tool I’ve ever used.

I suggest using Boris’Title 3d’ that comes bundled with FCP in the install disc.

It is essential when attempting to monitor the QUALITY of images in FCP that you use an external NTSC VIDEO Monitor (or PAL, if that’s where you are).
Especially after you render…
the Canvas is never high-quality (by design) and should not be used to make determinations of image quality of clips or graphics.

VERY IMPORTANT:

If you position the graphics, make SURE the VERTICAL setting for each KEY-FRAME (start, stop or hold) is always a EVEN INTEGER. (examples: 4, not 3 / -144, not -143.27 / 336, not 335.62)

I sometimes forget to check this and I can end up with images that look fuzzy when in-position.

This info applies to re-positioning ANYTHING on the Timeline: moving video, freeze-frames, internally-generated titles, and imported graphics.

It can be quite detrimental to the quality of your final output to not double-check this every time you reposition and/or re-size an image.
