With all these amazingly intelligent plugins coming out now, I was wondering what the best way to increase the resolution of video is?
    I mostly use After Effects.

    thanks

    Daniel.

I’ve seen a system that can enlarge a 4×4 pixel section of an image taken at midnight from a $35 security camera at a distance of 2/3 mile.
It take make a wide shot in which there is a tiny section of license plate on a speeding car and render it full-screen/full-color/full-rez with 5 computer keystrokes.

Call CBS Television and ask for Gil Grissom.
    He works in Las Vegas.

    😉

I thought you were serious for a second. Had my hopes up.

    I was after something like:

    But for video.

I do a lot of upconverting SD video to HD for theatrical release. My experience has been that the original source material and the master format matter a great deal more than the algorithm used to resample it. Film originated material tends to hold up better, and the more pixels the better, anamorphic over letterboxed. I’ve found that the default after effects resampling at 16 or 32 bit is good enough.
