Edit off that last frame and see what happens.

[Chuck Purnell] “The location of the soundboard in relation to where my camera set up is to long of a distance to run XLR cables to.”

Then, I would get some longer cables. (No, I’m not kidding.)

The hard cable WILL work… and cost less than renting high-end wireless (which may, make noise, or distort, or even fail during “live” conditions.)

If you want it to WORK… use a wire.

There are so many places to hide a tiny lav (Tram TR50, Countryman B6, Sony ECM 77B, etc.)

In the bend of a shirt collar, under a suit lapel, on top of the talent’s shoulder,
even in the talents HAIR (unless the talent’s hairline looks like mine or Ty Ford’s. 😉

[Nathan Gilbert] “while it has two inputs, it appears to be a mixer, where what I am looking for is something that takes a stereo input.”

    That’s how you’ll get “stereo.”

Feed the left channel of the line source into input 1 and the right channel of the line source into input 2.
Adjust the level controls and record the stereo source.

[Gary Seith] “everything is EXTREMELY noisy.”

Line level output into a Mic level input?

July 19, 2010 at 2:06 pm in reply to: How Can I Achieve This Transaction???

[Mark Suszko] “Or you could just put in 15 frames of white, and then put 10-frame dissolves on either side of it….

That can (basically) be achieved using a single transition called “Dip to Color Dissolve” (make the color white.)

For a no-cost solution, since you are shooting SD,
just connect your camcorder to the Mac via FireWire, and connect the camcorder’s AV outputs to the monitor.

Sounds like one or more of the tracks have accidentally been “slipped” out of sync with the other(s).

July 11, 2010 at 8:32 pm in reply to: Audio adjustment to sync from PAL to NTSC

[Boon Ong] “Given PAL duration at 30sec and been converted to NTSC, what timing should it be?

    30 seconds.

PAL runs at (approx.) 25 frames per second, and NTSC at (approx.) 30 frames per second.

But the SECONDS (time) is what should remain constant.

You need to “standard convert” from one standard to the other.
Part of the standards conversion is a change in the rate at which the frames are presented in real-time.

30 full seconds should playback as 30 full seconds, regardless of the frame rate.

July 10, 2010 at 11:39 pm in reply to: Audio adjustment to sync from PAL to NTSC

[Boon Ong] “I had it encode in 2 format of PAL and NTSC. PAL is indeed longer and stand on 30sec (originally from my source) whereas NTSC is 26sec. “

This should not be the case.

    You’ve not converted properly.
