Okay, I have figured out how to go directly to the next video/slide show rather than back to the menu (by using the link command), but I still can’t get the forward and back remote commands to work. I even tried inserting chapter markers directly into DVD Architect at the beginning of each video/slide show.

Thanks, John. Your advice is always very helpful and truly appreciated. I have gotten through the basic steps successfully, but now I have two issues to address. Let me preface this by saying that I added markers at the beginning of each video or slide show project and typed in a name. (I did so by using the “M” keystroke. I assume that is how chapter markers are created.) I then rendered several videos and slide shows as a test using Main Concept AVC for the video and checked the box to include the chapter markers in the rendered file.

The issues I have after running the videos and slide shows throuh DVD Architect are as follows:

    1. After a video or slide show plays, it reverts to the menu. I instead want it to move directly on to the next video or slide show and start playing automatically).

    2. I am unable to click forward or backward through the videos or slideshows (if people want to just go on to the next video or slide show or skim through them quickly, like chapters in the movie).

Thanks, John. I have a quad-core with an Intel i7. I think I may have solved all the rendering issues I had last night, merely by turning off the GPU acceleration. I am, however, still having an issue when I drag the files (whether shot in MP4 or in .MOV) into the timeline. The video portion appears much longer than the actual clip, and the audio portion is much shorter.

What render settings would you recommend (both for 4K and for downscaling to 1080p)? In the past, I have generated MP4 files for playback on Vimeo/YouTube and burning to a Blu-Ray disc.

For downscaling to 1080p, is it simply a matter of matching the media properties, and then rendering in 1080p?

An i7 processor with 16gb of RAM. Mostly rendering to the Sony AVC or MainConcept full HD internet settings. Just interested in the percentage difference in rendering times for 4K footage versus HD footage (four times as long?).

That sounds great. Any idea how much extra rendering time is needed to render 4K video (using pan and crop to render to HD)?

  • Many thanks. I will give it a try.

I should mention that the footage was shot using a Sony HDR-HC1:
