Burning a Blu-Ray Disc for Viewing in Any Blu-Ray Player

Unfortunately, that’s the way it is. I’ll bet the ones that won’t play BD-r discs are a few years old.
We had a similar problem with DVD’s years ago. The DVD players that were made before recordable DVD’s were common would not play recordable DVD’s. The first-gen BD players were made before BD-R was even out of the lab.

Nothing formal but how about this:

• Open DVD Architect.
• Select a Theme that you like or just use the Blue background.
• Drag and drop your files onto the menu (they will make buttons by default)
• Change the title to something sensible
• Press the Burn button

That should get you started.

Thanks, John. Your advice is always very helpful and truly appreciated. I have gotten through the basic steps successfully, but now I have two issues to address. Let me preface this by saying that I added markers at the beginning of each video or slide show project and typed in a name. (I did so by using the “M” keystroke. I assume that is how chapter markers are created.) I then rendered several videos and slide shows as a test using Main Concept AVC for the video and checked the box to include the chapter markers in the rendered file.

The issues I have after running the videos and slide shows throuh DVD Architect are as follows:

1. After a video or slide show plays, it reverts to the menu. I instead want it to move directly on to the next video or slide show and start playing automatically).

2. I am unable to click forward or backward through the videos or slideshows (if people want to just go on to the next video or slide show or skim through them quickly, like chapters in the movie).

Hi guys, slightly off target but I sent out some videos (Blu-rays) that I made here in Pal land to relatives in the states…1080, 50i at 25fps. They couldn’t play them on their newish Blu ray players so I had to re-burn, re-formatting at NTSC frame rates & that worked.

Thought the old Pal vs NTSC was not needed for HDV.

Hopefully by “link” you mean that you are setting the End Action of the first video to point to the next video. The End Action defaults to Return to Menu.

If you set the End Actions correctly, you should be able to use the Next Chapter button to advance the video. Note: the Previous Chapter button will not work because you can’t jump backwards across files, only forward.

That is exactly what I did, and once a video plays, it will automatically move to the next video. However, the “next” command on the remote control doesn’t work.

Have you tried a different DVD player? Sometimes disks work on one and not another.
