This thread involved the same error message – only in Sound Forge. Might be of some help:

November 1, 2007 at 3:05 pm in reply to: Getting DVD architect chapters to go back to menu.

I have had this same problem when I have chapters set up by having onje long event on the time line and having the chapters delineated by marrkers. DVDA doers not seem to know that the chapter ends and continues playing to the end of the event. I have gotten around this by placing the different chapters on diffreent time lines in Vegas and make separate projects and then placing them in DVDA as sepaarate events. Then when it reaches the end of the chapter it foolows the end action and goes back to the menu you point it to.

When you take that ‘snapshot’ it not omnly adds it to the file location that you have chosen but it also adds it to the project media bin.

  • Yes, I believe it does. You can eiter capture thye entire tape with it broken intoo scenes if the clock on your camcorder is set or you can advance capture by marking in and out marks and let the capture utility batch capture. Each in and out mark will result in one scene. I’m not sure if batch capture is possible in Studio??

Well after rendering to a new track I could then take the project and print it to tape. Can’t figure out why I have to do it this round about way though?

If you are rendering the audio out as AC3 for DVD (as you should) make sure to make the following changes
On the Audio Service tab Change Dialogue Normalization to -31
    and
On thr preprocessing tab Line mode profile to ‘None’
and RF mode profile to ‘None’

I’m a little dense sometimes (my wife would say most of the time). let me see if I have this right. You are trying to create a video to place on and play from your web site. Your project properties for youe Vegas project are NTSC DV (720×480, 29.970 fps)? And you are rendering out .mov or wmv at 720×480 xfps? If the media you bring in are 720×480 (look at their properties) they will fill the screen. If the size is different (ie photos) and they don’t fill the who;e screen then you need use pan and crop to resize them. If you want them to look right you need to have ‘maintain aspect ratio’ on. You will lose part of the picture but that unavoidable. Adjust the scan and pan until you have the part of the picture on the screen that you want. There are scripts available that will ‘match aspect ratio’ automatically. I think EXCALIBUR has one.

You can do what you want to CC but ultimately you are at the mercy of your client and their usually uncalibrated display. I reallly hate spending all that time anfd work to CC and have it look like cr## when the client plays it. Of course many of them don’t seem to care:>))

    OK, next question-
When you apply the volume envelope and make your adjustment and you play back the timeline do you hear your adjustment. That is if you adjustetd your volume down in a spot do you hear the volume decrease at that spot when you PLAY FROM THE TIMELINE.

Are you saying that when you look at the waveform prior to adding the volume envelope and then render the audio with the envelope into a new audio file and look at the wave form of the new audio file that the old wave form and the new wave form are exactly alike?
