Nope. The end result needs to be in DCI XYZ when you make a DCP. There are a lot of features that are graded in Rec709 and then converted when it’s done. The thing about DCI-P3 grading is that it should be done with a projector in a proper DI theater. You can’t emulate projector reflectance on a monitor.
Unless you really know what you’re doing you’d probably be better off by grading in Rec709.

Does your mouse have a wheel or some sort of scrolling surface on it? That might do the trick.

The settings button is grayed out if you don’t have an effect on your selected node. Drag the effect to the node from the OpenFX list and then it should go to the settings page automatically.

No. It sets the frame rate for a still image if you have an import duration set to it in preferences import. This comes into play if you put that still into a comp. I can’t see this affecting anything because it’s a still so it might be some legacy thing that’s kept in. I’ve done AE stuff for over 10 years and I’ve never touched that setting.

Because I still wager that those were transcoded with some proprietary Apple codec that needs to be installed and they are only available when you have FCPX, Compressor or Motion.

It won’t affect video files as they have an fps value associated with them. If you want to change the fps of an image sequence or a video file you’ll need to go in the interpret footage page. If you’re working with image sequences you can also set the default import fps for those in the preferences.

Usually the playback systems that show this kind of stuff have the file split into smaller files and then sync them in playback. I’ll say again: Get. The. Delivery. Specification.

The default base comes into play if you bring in stuff that doesn’t have a frame rate (for example a still image) and you’ve set a length for how long the single still will be when you put it in the comp under preferences – import. I have no idea if it does anything differently when the still image is actually in the comp.
I’ve never messed with it because I usually set the durations myself.
