It looks like you’re set plug-in wise. You just need to figure out how much you want to push the footage and that the client knows that it won’t suddenly turn into super crisp HD. Instead of 1080p you might try 720p, unless the client absolutely wants full HD.

Take a slider control (or whatever control you want) from Effect -> Expression Controls and pickwhip the wiggle value to it. Then animate the controller.

You don’t need to scale them in the motion panel. Just select all clips in the timeline and right click -> scale to frame size.

DVD’s are standard definition so it’s either PAL 720×576 25fps or NTSC 720×480 29,97fps and both with their respective 16:9 pixel aspect ratios. Premiere has presets for making MPEG2 files for DVD use.

Your machine can’t probably handle the 4K footage. Try lowering the playback resolution and see if it helps.

I can use H.264 without any hiccups. The only thing I would transcode would be AVCHD files because that codec is impossible to work with.

If you didn’t set any export options it defaults to an uncompressed codec.

If you’re scaling a huge picture down to fit the normal video resolutions you should enable the maximum render quality option in the export settings. It will make a better quality scale but the render will take a lot longer.

You can enable the dropped frame indicator in the program monitor settings. It’s the twirl down menu that’s in the upper right corner.

Well that’s AVCHD for ya. It’s a goddamn horrible codec and I wish people wouldn’t use it.
