What size were the proxies and what size are the originals? You’ll need to change the sequence resolution to match the originals.

Your sequence is set up for a bigger resolution than your footage. Drag the video from your project settings to the new item button to create a sequence based on the file.

What are the EXACT export settings and what exactly are you exporting? A 53 minute timeline really shouldn’t take 30 gigs of space in MPEG2.

You could make your smaller edits in their own sequences and you could edit those sequences from the bin to your main sequence.

-Make your proxies and remember to keep the filenames/timecodes/whatever metadata they have. Otherwise you’ll be in trouble with the relinking.
-Finish your edit.
-Offline all used media.
-Relink to the original media.
-Do whatever additional post work you need to do (grading, effects, etc.) -
The thing about Mercury Transmit is that it outputs the signal with the comp or timeline settings. If your monitor/IO doesn’t support that you get nothing and you can’t make comps with fields in AE so you get nothing.

Well the OP said it would work with DV PAL so I’d wager it’s a EU TV. I feel really bad for US if they can’t get non-crippled TVs. That’s just sad.

Most fairly fresh (like 7-8 years maybe more) Eurozone TV’s support pretty much every specced SD-720p-1080i/p formats through HDMI including 24 and 23,976. If it’s a bit older model it might not support 1080p25 but it would work if you gave it an interlaced signal, which might be the case here.
