It would probably be easier to shoot your own video from scratch.

The folders have a bunch of camera created metadata and those have nothing to do with whatever the editor has done. You’ll need a proper XML, EDL or AAF from the editor that has the edit information in it.

How are you trying to import it and what exact file are you trying to import?

Transcoding won’t help with quality, but it can help with performance.

The Avid created DNxHD files work only in Avid and some other programs (Scratch, Digital Vision’s software etc).

Is the WMP window the same size as your AE comp window?

Are you editing compressed 4K? If yes then you don’t need some super insane fast drive, but you’ll need a beefy CPU/GPU. Are you editing uncompressed 4K? If yes then you’ll need a super insane fast drive that can read/write about 1,5GB/s.

I’d wager that Mister Adobe wouldn’t recommend installing third party codec packs as they can mess up stuff.

Select multiple sequences in the project panel and press ctrl+M.

DO NOT USE QUICKTIME PLAYER FOR ANYTHING COLOR CRITICAL! It is a piece of garbage software that can’t show anything correct.
