Although I’m not new to AE, I would say I’m a beginner… so go easy on me! I’m guessing I just did something pretty dumb, but I need help none the less!

Recently, I rendered a composition to a .avi and I was met by some terrible quality. This confused me, because inside of After Effects, things seemed nice, and looked good. However, here’s a screenshot (using ShareX) I took inside of After Effects of some text:

Here’s it in Windows Media Player:

You can tell that the quality of the second picture is lower, while the size is bigger. Perhaps I just wasn’t viewing it at the correct aspect ratio inside of After Effects, and if this is the case, how can I change it so the quality looks good once I render?

    Thank you!

Is the WMP window the same size as your AE comp window?

What Tero asked. Also, what were your render settings in AE? What were your composition settings?
