Basically I am trying to do something similar to this, its taking me a while to try to keep the images appear to be still in the environment of the video. (if that makes sense)
Would it be easier to use some kind of tracking and how??

You want to do two things:
1) Do a 3D camera track of the scene, creating a few reference 3D nulls where you will place the “photos”
2) Use a technique called “projection” to create the 3D photo areas, positioned at these reference nulls, which are seamless from their original perspective but fail as the camera moves away from that original perspective.
Check out Ben Rollason’s Projection script [link] for a tool to make this easier.

To me it seems like it would be easier to track the scene in Bonjour, then composite it all in after effects.

Boujou would be neat if it weren’t for the fact that it costs 5000-10000 USD.

Yes. Use the 3D camera tracker in AE, or if that doesn’t work, use Mocha
