If I remember correctly the Dolby codec has been deprecated and it should use the Dolby decoder that’s in the OS. I would probably try to transcode the footage to a format that works and see if the camera has any options for different audio recording formats.

[Tom Sefton] “The dongle is an official one that came with a cinema camera purchase. “

Did you buy this yourself or did you buy it from a third party? There was a version cutoff where fake dongles would stop working.

  • Make your own effect preset for a white fill and use that.

  • It is in Fusion 16. If you have a Resolve USB dongle you can use that with the same licence

  • Classroom and small screening room are not specs. What is it being played on? Is there a special playback system or is it shown from a computer with VLC/WMP/Quicktime? Windows or Mac?

Also classrooms (at least in Finland) can be notoriously bad when it comes to doing anything because the computer software is locked down and the only media player you have is probably Windows Media Player.

    It depends.

  • Ask for delivery specs if it’s going out. There’s no one size fits all with this.

The camera tracker is for tracking camera movement in 3D space. Use the normal point tracker if you’re tracking objects or keyframe it manually because the clip is pretty short.

There are usually two different options that should be talked about before starting the work:

1: A roundtrip workflow where you get the graded footage back (probably with some heads/tails) in the source resolution without any effects/resizing/scaling. Then you can relink them to your timeline.

2: The colorist does an online edit matching scaling/position changes and burning in transitions. You will get a flattened master file back.

You have given pretty much zero information so it’s impossible to say. Computer specs? Storage specs? Footage format/resolution/fps? Sequence settings? EXACT export settings?
