I haven’t edited video in a while, so I may be a little green here. I am trying to do a project withPP 2017 and a Canon HD10.

I can import video into PP, but can’t import the audio. I get a few errors during import, but I also get a dialogue window that says I have to click it to install the dolby codec. Anyway, video comes in and I don’t get any audio.

I am using a 2013 8 core mac pro, Yosemite, with PP 2017. I can’t select and copy the error messages, or the dolby codec dialogue box.

    Am I using outdated hardware?

    Any thought would be appreciated.

If I remember correctly the Dolby codec has been deprecated and it should use the Dolby decoder that’s in the OS. I would probably try to transcode the footage to a format that works and see if the camera has any options for different audio recording formats.

Dolby codec existed in PP CC 2017.1.2, then it was removed in the next version – PP CC 2017.1.4 and later.
