No. It would probably help if you’re doing a lot of episodic content that has multiple seasons. It would help with organizing.

What’s the aspect ratio of the Samsung? Because it’s probably one of those wider ones and you’re trying to view 16:9 footage on it.

That’s the work area bar. I don’t know why it’s still in as the In-Out selection really replaced that from back in the day.

For any reasonably professional modern post workflow firewire is completely dead and there’s no new hardware being made. It doesn’t make sense to keep supporting it when there’s all kinds of new standards to implement. If this is something that one really needs (eg. archiving or onlining some old footage) then one should use a different workflow.

I wouldn’t set the tracking area to be that tight. Set the tracking area outside the edge of the TV. You could also try tracking only the right edge.

Export to prores if you’re on Mac. Or DNxHR if you’re on Windows. That said I don’t know what formats Vegas supports so you’ll need to pick on that works.

Premiere CS4 is ancient and so is your computer. Get a modern one or use formats that’ll run on it.

VBR will not raise the maximum bit rate. It will lower it when it sees information it can compress.
