In addition to *that* you can open the transition, and to the right of the transition chain, there is a remove button, just next to the question mark. Click it and the transition is gone from your clip.

MPEG Audio is part of the PAL DVD standard. For a while there was whispering of MPEG being the standard for PAL users instead of AC3 (way back when the DVD standard was being worked on) as far as I can remember. Lots of heated discussions.
Since AC3 is part of the PAL DVD spec, I don’t see what the fuss is about. Just encode your PAL DVDs with AC3 audio.

Yeah, I know, that is a good solution, but… I want it on disks, they are so easy 🙂
Maybe I should go out and buy a blue-ray drive…

I agree with ed here, only exception is if you want to let Mac users view what you have (there is a Mac viewer for wmv). In that case you should probably use Quicktime or the new H.264 codec, but that will require your PC users download Quicktime 🙂
Both give good results.
Another alternative I like is DivX.

Being able to import Camcorder DVDs, does that mean that we can also import non-copy protected DVDs (for example the kind I have made my self)? Are these camcorder DVDs not just regular (mini) DVDs with VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS?

Good point, you are as always 100% correct. When creating a DV-AVI stream, disk speed will be a factor unless there are lots of effects and transitions.

The speedup will probably be marginal if at all. Rendering is CPU and RAM bound, not disk bound.

Also, note that USB2 is theoretically faster than firewire, but a drive connected to a Firewire port will still typically be faster than on a USB2 port. This is due to a few other aspects where Firewire has an advantage over USB.

This varies a lot, and if you look at the various websites devoted to this I think you will find that the -R and +R disks have about the same level of compatibility while the -RW has a higher compatibility rate than the +RW disks. I have found that what software used to burn and what speed you burn at has a more significant impact on compatibility than does + or – disks.
