How can I remove a transition once I have added it. If I double click it, it just opens. I can’t seem to find a “delete” icon for transitions.

also, would it just be easier for me to stick with overlapping the images rather than adding transitions?

    Thanks
    Wes

Overlapping the events is how I do add the transition (i.e. crossfade). One solution to remove a different transtion would be to replace it with a dissolve. However, that’s not exactly the same as a crossfade. To make it a crossfade once again, put the cursor on the transition and press / on the numeric keypad. This will revert it back to a crossfade.

Also, you can replace a Transition by a Cut by pressing ‘CTRL + /’.

In addition to *that* you can open the transition, and to the right of the transition chain, there is a remove button, just next to the question mark. Click it and the transition is gone from your clip.
