You have two problems. The first is that mid range, or gamma is too high. The easiest way to fix this is with curves but those are only available in Symphony.
the second problem is that the interview in front of the locker is too red (Look at the locker handle which should be neutral grey but is reddish) and the other footage is too blue (Look at the chalkboard and notice it isn’t white but actually blue)
Of course all of this is based on your internet video, not the original footage seen on a decent external scope.
You need to bring down the midrange in the blown out shots. (Interview in front of locker and the teacher) Then you need to white balance the shots to get a closer match.

July 13, 2011 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Quicktime Reference – all media transcoded but still getting “no can do, AMA linked” error! You could try copying the timeline to your source monitor, then create a new sequence and paste them into it. Just in case there is some metadata weirdness in the sequence.
To tell if the clips are the issue, try exporting a reference movie of one of the clips.

I am wondering if something about this will be revealed at the special Avid event next week in LA.

[Michael Kammes] “I think the Nitris DX has many years of life left, I’d hate to see it sold short.”
Same here. There is more I/O. There are two daughtercard slots (1 can be used or AVC acceleration, the other?) and there is the whole FPGA thing where the DX can be upgraded in firmware. That said, what was the lifeline of the Classic Nitris? Wasn’t that many years, at least not on the Symphony side.

I think they’ll continue support for it for a while, whatever that means. But you can’t buy it anymore.

June 21, 2011 at 2:31 pm in reply to: “no timecode controlled positioning of output to tape”I guarantee you Apple knows all of this. They tried to manage the impact to the pro market in unprecedented (for Apple) ways. A sneak peek for FCP advocate pros, another at NAB, and a seed to folks like Gary, Philip and Larry Jordan.
In the end, it comes down to your definition of “pro”. Mine is that a pro is anyone who makes a living in said profession. Apple is banking on a lot more folks making a living using FCP X. In the light of how many people all over the planet will be doing that, the tiny micro universe that we few high end pros occupy is insignificant.
