yeah i’m not totally against buying it. in fact, if Apple doesn’t get the X thing right I will be switching to Avid or Adobe. More than likely Adobe since I used to edit with versions 5 & 6 back in the day.

May 19, 2011 at 2:31 am in reply to: Sync Drift H4N

i’m using a h4n with a canon 60 day and i have sync drift as well. I just converted all the 41khz audio to 48khz audio, brought them back into FCP7 and I still have drift. The first block of the show I’m editing is 6 minutes. Sync is perfect for about 2 minutes then it starts to drift out of sync by over 15 frames. Is there something else that should be done in Soundtrack other than converting to 48khz? Dither? etc. ? thanks

May 3, 2011 at 10:48 pm in reply to: Apple Pro Res LT & Canon 60D in FCP

this station wants the show on BetaSP or miniDV, so I’m exporting the pro res timeline to 16:9 DVNTSC and then re-importing it to a DVNTSC timeline for export to my Sony A1U HDV deck. Export from the timeline as apple pro res LT was not liked by my HDV camera and I don’t have an AJA or Intensity Card to go back to the camera as Component RGB. This station broadcasts digitally but not in HD. Thanks

Man, you learn something everyday. Now I have to see if my three year old HDTV set runs off of HDMI 1.3a or 1.4a. If not, the Intensity Pro won’t work on it!! LOL Technology.

thanks for the link and help. i’ve decided to go with the Black Magic Intensity Pro PCI card and just run the second HDMI out to my 32″ HD screen. I read about three different articles discussing the issues with the Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter and they don’t sound too positive. But thanks again.

Just one crazy question and hopefully you know it but why would there be three output options if all three can’t work if connected. why limit the capability to two when there are three? Or are there options out there that exist that I don’t know of? Could be. It reminds me of the old Intel/AMD RAM chipsets where the motherboard had four slots for RAM but you could only use three. LOL

thanks. i like that route. i shoot a lot of ENG, run & gun, and if i decided not to use a wireless shotgun then a mic on the DSLR would be cool but since i have a zoom i was thinking it would be less clumsy to have it mounted to the DSLR unless the audio it captures won’t compare to a shotgun and will be a waste of time. Something is telling me to check out the fig rig though.
