Hmm, thanks, but the thing is:

We shot the projector footage (so at least I have that to work with).
We weren’t allowed to use a smoke machine in the projection room thus we have no intense beam of light to work with. Hence I’m trying to re-create this in After Effects, as I’m pretty sure the guys that did this Andrew Marr stuff did that effect in post too.

Hi I’m experiencing the same problem but with XDCAM HD422 1080p25 footage.
The footage displays “tearing” in both FCP and Quicktime.
Has anyone managed to solve this yet?

Hi, I tried the flicker filter as you suggested, but it did nothing.

Yes my sequence settings match the camera codec exactly.
I get the same horizontal lines/tearing in the original files played back in Quicktime too.
The files are XDCAM HD422 1080p25.

Thanks, but I’ve set the canvas to 100% and the flickering/tearing is still there.

The footage is progressive and my sequence settings seem to be set up correctly with field dominance set to “none”. I don’t know what else to do and I’m a bit worried now.

    Any suggestions?

Hi, did anyone figure our how to do this? I have the same problem, and I’ve tried setting the first vertex etc. I just want control over which way the stroke animates.

    Thanks!

  • Can anyone help??????

  • Hi,
    no it’s not solved 🙁
The quicktimes i’m using vary in size from 15MB to 391MB and they all seem to misbehave equally as much.

I have 3GB of ram running on a 2.4Ghz dual core imac.
perhaps i need to change something in my After Effects preferences?
