I have backups for the backups of my backups… lol. But I did not realize how much I am bogging down my C drive, Makes perfect sense though!! Do you have a recommendation for a dedicated drive just to edit from? Also, thank you again!! If it weren’t for kind people such as yourself, I’d be so lost!!

I just installed the new 1070 ti… Thank you so much for the recommendation!! I do edit footage directly from the C drive. Is it more efficient to edit from an external drive? I am self-taught and was not aware of that.

Thank you for your reply! I will double check to be sure I have the proper version installed. I do plan to submit a ticket as well. I just thought I’d see if anyone out there had the same problem. I will post the solution as soon as I find it.

    Sorry for disappearing there…

[Nigel O'Neill] “1) Any particular reason why you are using a 32 bit pixel format instead of 8 bit?”

I am using 8 bit pixel format

[Nigel O'Neill] “2) Have you selected Adjust source media to better match project or render settings in your project properties?”

I have tried both and neither seems to affect the preview.

One thing that did seem to help was I moved all of the video clips on the timeline to another video track. The video quality improved a lot, but I’m not sure I understand why…

Oops. I have 12gb of ram and a 2tb hard drive. Multi-tasking was not serving me well today:/

Thank you for the response. Yes, I am comparing on the same screen and by preview is set to “preview (full)”. I have a six core processor with 2TB of ram, so the issue is not my machine.

Thank you! I could have sworn I tried that.

The preview still looks horrible. The picture is very grainy and lacks contrast. When I render and view the rendered footage the picture looks fine. Is there another setting that I may be overlooking?
