[Post Office Video] “the new Finder is ugly and hard to read”
You really think so? I think quite the opposite, list view especially is much easier to read.

I’ll throw in another recommendation for nmr – set up our 6 machines and SAN, good support. London based though, if you’re in Scotland you might want to try mitcorp, they have a Glasgow office…

Are you cutting something that’s been standards converted? Say from NTSC to PAL? It’s happened to me when I’ve cut NTSC to PAL converted material…

I’m running 4.5. I don’t think my system will support 6.0″The requirements for FCP6 are fairly modest:
A Macintosh computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon processor
1GB of RAM
An AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card (Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors)
A display with 1024-by-768 resolution or higher
Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later
QuickTime 7.1.6 or later
A DVD drive for installationAny G4 with a dual processor should also be able to run it. You won’t get the apps like colour, but FCP will work by itself fine.

We’re the same too, just usually stripe from 09:58:45:00 to 09:59:10:00 to give us enough for our usual 09:59:00:00 start.

The stupid thing that gets me is that Blu-ray and HD-DVD use basically the same encodes, I believe the Planet Earth discs use the same encode whatever version you watch… If that’s the case then what’s the point?

Did you try to set your sequence settings manually? Just keep to the easy setups, and match your sequence whatever you’ve digitised.
How are you digitising?
