Thank you. However, at the risk of becoming a nuisance, this doesn’t seem to work for me. Once I select “connect objects and delete” I’m just left with an outline spline of my object:

I assume it’s something to do with one of the individual objects (perhaps the caps on the “Logo” object?) but I can’t seem to figure it out.

Ah, I see my problem. I just needed to change the gradient type from 2d-Star to 2D-V.

Oh dear, apologies. Thank you for pointing that out!

Ot doesn’t actually go into the bit that I’m struggling with though… The designer himself (Jim Helton) says it was all done in FCP but he can’t remember the process. I’ve had some OKish results with my tests but nothing I’m happy with.

Any ideas?

Yes I have upgraded to Maveriks
App nap is off for AE
The graph stays pretty reasonable but the Memory Used reaches 7.99gb of the 8 available.

The machine then grinds to a halt and doesn’t recover until I run a memory cleaning app.
